Gratitude

Hey Guys,
Here We are again. Remember last time I asked you to do something ??..................
I hope You all did that., So, that was the first step i.e, to know what you actually want from life and now I am gonna tell you about the most important tool which can help you attain that.
Yes, It is THE GRATITUDE....
Gratitude, thankfulness, gratefulness, or appreciation is a feeling or attitude in acknowledgment of a benefit that one has received or will receive.
It's mainly like thanking someone for something that you have in life.
Well, It has different concepts in different religions which of course have the same meanings like -
Jewish conceptions -
In Judaism, gratitude is an essential part of the act of worship and a part of every aspect of a worshiper’s life. According to the Hebrew worldview, all things come from God and because of this, gratitude is extremely important to the followers of Judaism. The Hebrew Scriptures are filled with the idea of gratitude. Two examples included in the psalms are "O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever," and "I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart" (Ps. 30:12; Ps. 9:1). The Jewish prayers also often incorporate gratitude beginning with the Shema, where the worshiper states that out of gratitude, "You shall love the Eternal, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might" (Deut. 6:5).
One of the crucial blessings in the central thrice-daily prayer, the "Amidah", is called "Modim" - "We give thanks to You"; this is also the only blessing which is recited by the congregation together with the leader during their repetition of the Amidah. The concluding prayer, the Alenu, also speaks of gratitude by thanking God for the particular destiny of the Jewish people. Along with these prayers, faithful worshipers recite more than one hundred blessings called berachot throughout the day.
In Judaism there is also a major emphasis on gratitude for acts of human kindness and goodness.
For Christian and Islamic Conceptions go to - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gratitude
Now I am gonna tell you how would you actually have do it -
Look at the pictures given below -
Look at the kind of love and care these parents have for their kids.
So, the first thing you do as soon as you get up is thank your parents for kind of pain they took for growing you up, the kind of pain they had to bear when you are being rude to them or you are neglecting them.
Your Mom, keeps you in there for 9 months, She takes all the pain in giving birth to you. We can't even imagine the kind of pain she had to go through for bringing YOU in this world. But, as soon as you are born, She forgets everything picks you up with her hands which are still trembling with so much pain and then kisses you with tears in her eyes which are still not believing that 9 months of hardship has atlast come to an end.
As, You grow up, She plays with you, She allows you to feed on her and gives her all attention only to your well-being. And, When you get hurt, She cries the whole night, does everything she can in the world just to see a tiny smile on your face.

But then, You get into teenage - everything she says seems to be insane, you find some beautiful girl, fall in love with her, leave your mom for her or kill yourself for that fake love.
Now, Put yourself in her shoes and just imagine the kind of pain you would have to go through when you find that the kid who was with you for 20+ years decided to die for a girl he met just a few days back breaking all your dreams and expectations.
Read this poem -
'A Mother's Hurting Heart'
I had my heart truly broken today
By a man I call, “My Son.”
I knew when I talked with him
He wasn’t poking fun.
I asked him, “Why haven’t you called? ”
Or answered my emails? ”
His answer was so hurtful
Driving in deep the nails.
“I was busy doing something else
Didn’t have anytime for you.
And as far as those emails you send me
I blocked them now from my view.”
He drove those hurtful words in deep
Deep into my open loving mother’s heart.
Did he know what damage he was inflicting?
I think he knew it from the start.
But why would he feel this need, ” I wondered? ”
What was buried in his heart not shared?
Did I do something to hurt or anger him?
Or is it that he really doesn’t care?
I will give this burden up to God in prayer
And ask that He heal what is for me unseen.
To sooth my sons hurt and sin of pride
And take away evils mean.
By: Linda Winchell
You surely don't want to make your mom go through that much pain.
So, The first thing to do as soon as you get up is Thank your parents for giving you this beautiful life.

You must have seen that if you start your day, saying all those bad words to your LOUD ALARM, to your COLLEGE or to the MORNING then the whole day actually end up getting worse.
So, the second thing you need to do after you get up is thank god for this beautiful morning and decide that this day is gonna be the best of your life and you will see the magic.
As, I earlier said in one of my posts, You don't have to just say these things, Instead You have to feel them thus emitting all those positive frequencies and really making a day that you really wanna share with your Journal.
At the end of the day, Thank everyone you met in the whole day and say that you are really thankful to them for making this day a great one and allowing you learn some new things and if something went bad then remember -
So, Follow this guys and enjoy your life.
Tomorrow I will be telling you something on the idea of FORGIVENESS.

Turning Imagination Into Reality

The real key to turning imagination into reality is acting as if the imagined scene were real and already accomplished. Instead of pretending it is a scene from the future, imagine it as though you are truly experiencing it in the present. It is a real event in the now. The great masters of antiquity have told use through the ages that whatever you believe you become. If you believe and imagine in the now that you are whatever you wish to be then reality must conform.

The problem most of us have is that we look at our lives through eyes of lack, seeing only what we don’t have and dwell on that. That is also active imagination. You are imagining and actively pushing this lack into your future by dwelling on it as real in the now.
As an exercise take anything about your life you would like to change or enhance. Sit back, relax, close your eyes and fantasize what you would really like to occur in your life. Don’t put any limitations on it, and don’t shroud it with doubt. Remember, there is no one who is going to judge this fantasy and no one who is going to prevent it from happening. Only you have the power to deter it’s realization. If it is healing your body then imagine yourself as you have felt in your healthiest hour. Become that again and relive it as a real occurrence in the now. Believe that you can regain your health, and this method will facilitate the healing. You have the power to do anything you want if you first imagine it in your mind’s eye
.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, five time Mr. Universe, four-time Mr. Olympia states about his training, “ As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can....I visualized myself being there already - having achieved the goal already. It’s mind over matter.”
The epitome of using visualization to create and invent was Nikolas Tesla. At an early age Tesla trained his powers of visualization. In his autobiography “My Inventions”, he describes, “Every night (and sometimes during the day), when alone, I would start out on my journeys - see new places, cities and countries - live there, meet people and make friendships and acquaintances and, however unbelievable, it is a fact that they were just as dear to me as those in actual life and not a bit less intense in their manifestations.
“This I did constantly until I was about seventeen when my thoughts turned seriously to invention. Then I observed to my delight that I could visualize with the greatest facility. I needed no models, drawings or experiments. I could picture them all as real in my mind.”

Tesla was a prolific and unparalleled genius, giving us AC electricity, the electric car as well as many other devices, some which have not seen the light of day because they would revolutionize man’s approach to energy.

Check Out This Really Inspiring Song -

In the 1980 Olympics the Russians used this technique. They split their athletes into four groups: Groups A through D. Group A used 100% traditional physical practice; Group B 75% physical 25% mental; Group C, 50% physical - 50% mental and Group D was 75% mental and 25% physical practice. After the Moscow Olympics and the Lake Placid Olympics these world class athletes scores were tallied and those in Group D had won the most medals.

This knowledge that the power to imagine is more powerful than physical practice is being used from medicine to the arts. Many famous musicians practice as often in their mind as they do with their instrument, Pablo Casals, world greatest cellist, being one of them.
This power cannot be underestimated. You can prove it to yourself by taking one thing that is very important to you and imagining it as real in your life. You have nothing to lose by applying this technique, and everything to gain. Your creative abilities will blossom and flourish the more you apply it to your life. Don’t take anyone else’s word for it, and play with the concept until it works for you.

Have You ever observed that, before the exam the people who are so scared often end up failing in the exams. You must have seen, You often don't study a topic and pray that - that topic shouldn't appear in the exam and often that topic only shows up. So, What could be the reason for this ??

Suppose You have a very important meeting and you are late for it. You get in your car and drive as fast as you can and then you often get struck in traffic and you end up missing the meeting. what is the reason for this ??

The answer to this lies in just a single line -

"Thoughts become reality"

When you are hoping for a particular question to not appear in the exam, then you are transferring all your energy to it. You are scared about what will happen if the question appears in the exam. That is how, the question shows up in the paper, ITS YOU WHO ATTRACTED IT and not the teacher who put it in there.

Same is the case with getting late due to traffic or now i can say getting late because of your thoughts.

Now, You might be thinking that you have to monitor each and every thought of yours which is for sure a very difficult task to do.

But don't worry, I help you out of that as well, just keep on reading the blog and learn the little secret of happiness in life. :)

And before that, I want a little favor from you. I want you to take a piece of paper and pen and write down the life you want 10 years from now. Don't restrict yourself from your present conditions or your passed past. Just write down the kind of life that is just PERFECT. :)

The Power Of Imagination

Hey guys,
I recently talked about the power of imagination in one of my posts.
Well, What is imagination ??
- The wikipedia says Imagination, also called the faculty of imagining, is the ability to form new images and sensations that are not perceived through sight, hearing, or other senses.
I agree to the definition, but don't understand it, lets try to fetch the exact definition of it.
Einstein said - "Imagination is more important than knowledge"
Some of you might be thinking - "that might be true for someone like Einstein but for people like us who hardly get enough marks to pass the examination, knowledge is must. We can't just imagine ourselves passing the examination without actually studying for it."

.
But what if I say - YES YOU CAN DO THAT.
First look at these examples-

One dramatic example of the power of vivid imagination is that of Air Force Colonel George Hall. He was a POW locked in the dark box of a North Vietnamese prison for seven grueling years. Every day Hall played a full game of golf in his imagination. One week after he was released from his POW camp he entered the Greater New Orleans Open and shot a 76.

Another incredible account is that of Vera Fryling, M.D. A Jewish teenager on the run from the Gestapo, she lived undercover in Berlin during the Holocaust. During this time she imagined that she was a doctor, a psychiatrist in a free land. Overcoming the Nazis, Soviet army and a bout with cancer, Fryling ended up on the faculty of the San Francisco Medical School. “Imagination,” she says, “can help one transcend the insults life has dealt us."

Now lets turn to the scientific aspect of it and lets start with some experiments-
  • A study was conducted to test the power of imagination. The experiment was done on a group of Olympic athletes. In this, the athletes were divided into two groups, the first one were supposed to actually run a 100m race while the other group had to run the  race only in their mind.At the end of the experiment, It was observed that the same kind of muscles triggered in both the group of racers and to the surprise the amount to which these muscles triggered was almost the same.
  • During another experiment a number of students learning piano was divided into two groups. The first group, with the name “the mental practice group” sat in front of an electric piano two hours a day, for five days, and imagined both playing the sequence and hearing it played. The second group, that was named “physical group”, actually played the piano. The brains of both groups were mapped before the experiments, each day and afterward. When both groups played the sequence after the end of the practice, a computer measured how accurate their performance was. The results have shown that both groups learned to play the sequence. The mapping of their brain showed similar brain map changes.
  • Anatoly Sharansky Became a Master of Chess Through Mental Practice - this shows how imagination leads to physical changes. While in prison, most political prisoners are mentally falling apart due to a lack of use of their brain that needs external stimulation. Anatoly Sharansky, a Jewish computer specialist, who stayed for a long time in prison in the worst conditions of isolation, played mental chess for months which helped him to keep his brain from degrading.During his mental practice, Sharansky played both white and black, holding the game in his head from opposite perspectives which is an extraordinary challenge to the brain. The result was that when world champion Garry Kasparov played against Sharansky, he didn’t manage to beat him. Sharansky became a master of Chess only by using his imagination.
    Antoly Sharansaky

Even now, if you are not satisfied then lets take the example of some of the greatest geniuses born over time

Albert Einstein - Undoubtedly the greatest genius of all time that ever stepped on this planet. Lets look at this - in 1905 Einstein submitted 3 papers that changed the course of history. The reason for his success was not just knowledge, it was something beyond the physical terms.
As he said, He used to go in for thought experiments. He would lock himself in his room and would be lost in his world of imagination for days all together. and see what he did to the history
Albert Einstein

Nicolas Tesla - The man who created the electromagnetic world that we live in today. He said, He would imagine the entire motors in his mind and then modify its design in his mind only and try to work out various combination which would ultimately work for him. He ofcouse believed in Alien lives and other stuffs which have not yet been proven yet. But, he said that he successfully communicated with aliens.
Nicolas Tesla

Ramanujan - The greatest mathematician of all time. He said that we would have dreams in which a mystery creature would come and write mathematics equations on a red wall and when i would get up. He would recall those dreams and work on those equations.
Ramanujan

So, were these creatures some hypothetical ideas or mere results of pure imagination??
In Hindu mythology, there is description of a place called the Akashic records ( google it in the side bar given on the right of the page for more) which is supposed to be the collection of all the knowledge of the world in a single place. What I personally believe is that when these geniuses like Ramanujan or Einstein would go these thought experiments, they somehow were able to access these akashic records and share with us the knowledge they gained there.

During Mahabharata, In the beginning of the war, Arjun said to lord krishna that we will not fight against his own brothers and his gurus. and then Lord Krishna showed him an image and said that the future is already decided, it will surely happen one way or the other, You just have to play your part. So, I believe that lord krishna would have showed him a way into the Akashic records where Arjun saw the future and learned the little secret of life.
Enough of religious stuffs, Now lets turn to some scientific ideas.
Let me ask you a question. What are thoughts??
Think of it for a while...............
According to what i think these thoughts are nothing but vibrations. Vibration is must for everything to function in this universe, everything here is vibrating with a particular frequency and hence has a specific amount of energy. So, does this mean that even our thoughts have energy??
Yes indeed, each thought has its own energy which depends upon its vibration.
You must have seen people around you who are mad about something, you call it madness but i call it passion. So, I would correct myself and say that these people are passionate about something.
So, when you are passionate about anything, and all the time you are thinking of nothing but the things you want, then it would lead to very strong vibrations and hence a great amount of positive energy that would ultimately lead you to succeed in the field you are passionate about.

Paulo Coelho in his book "The Alchemist" said that when you truly want something from deep within your heart then the whole world conspires for you to get it.

So, think of whatever I said today and try to imagine yourself the way you want to be.
Keep on doing this until you get the answer to the question given below in "YES".
"Will You Love Yourself, When You met Yourself??"

The Best Teacher

I recently got a mail from my friend asking who is the best teacher to learn from in the life. And i spent the last two days thinking about it.
And today, All of a sudden, I came up this idea about the best teacher in life, which i wanted to share with you.
So, Here it is -

What came to your mind when you first saw this picture??
Did you recall the countless hours of fun you had outdoors as a child with just a wooden stick and your imagination?  Did you recall the never-ending fun you had with your friends.
But Unfortunately,As we grow up we tend to lose track of our ability to dream without reason.  If we do not dream we will never see beyond today’s reality.  It is our imagination that drives both our dreams and our curiosity to chase them.
Maturity is a natural, essential evolution in one’s life.  As we mature we become more educated, organized, responsible, and serious.  General personal progression seems to be the obvious trend during this cycle, but our ability to let our imagination run free is lost somewhere between 9 and 5.  It seems that the more we learn here, the more we forget there.
We should never stop learning, but we should also never stop dreaming.  What good is educated progression if we lose sight of our natural human instinct to imagine, or to chase this imagination equipped with nothing more than a stick.  You had zero to lose then and you have zero to lose now.  Life is short.  Have fun.  Don’t forget to dream.  Don’t forget to use your imagination.
Kids live by their instincts openly and without hesitation.  They are enthusiastic about life, eager to learn, and curious about everything.  Even though kids still have a lot to learn, just observing them can teach us many practical life lessons.  These lessons are simple, yet pertinent to living a healthy, happy and productive life.  Spend an afternoon watching a group of kids interact with each other and the world around them.  You may be surprised at how clever they are.  They handle themselves differently than adults, and there is much we can learn from their behavior.

Kids: they dance before they learn there is anything that isn’t music.
- William Stafford
Here are some practical life lessons kids can teach us:
1.       Live Spontaneously – For better or worse, kids do not plan a thing they do.  They live spontaneously, taking in every uncertain moment for all it’s worth.  It would be foolish to say that proper time management and planning is unnecessary in adulthood.  However, it would also be foolish to ignore all the opportunities that spontaneously present themselves at unplanned instants throughout our lifetime.  Occasionally you have to steer off course when you see gold shimmering in your periphery.
2.      Never Let a Lack of Qualifications Deter You – Kids are never concerned with their lack of qualifications.  If they have never done something before, they are eager to test the waters.  If they fail, they brush themselves off and take another stab at it until they get it right.  Qualifications are usually just man-made restrictions proposed to keep passionate newcomers with grand ideas relegated to the margins.
3.      Exercise Can Be Fun – Kids exercise all the time, not because it’s healthy, but because it’s fun.  They participate in sports, climb trees, play tag, etc.  For some reason we forget that exercise can be fun.  It’s just a matter of finding an active, healthy activity we actually enjoy doing.
4.      When Things Go Awry, Laugh and Move On – When kids are dealt an unexpected hand they usually chuckle and work around the issue.  There are some things in life we just can’t anticipate.  Even with a great deal of planning, it’s very possible that life will throw us a curve ball.  We need to greet life’s curve balls with a sense of good humor and proactive fascination.
5.       Keep an Open Mind – A child’s mind is wide open to all the world has to offer.  Kids make most of their judgments strictly based on first-hand experience.  Few external influences have been present in their lives long enough to poison their judgment, and they are always ready to try something new.  As we hit adulthood we become creatures of habit, comfortable in the familiarity of our surroundings.  We shy away from anything with an unfamiliar taste.  In doing so, we walk away from numerous opportunities and positive experiences.
6.      Other People May Identify Our Abilities First – Kids are not typically proficient at identifying their talents and abilities.  A parent or mentor usually notices a child’s abilities and steers the child in the right direction.  Adults too can be unconscious of their natural gifts.  When something comes naturally to us we tend to overlook its significance.  Our friends, family, peers and superiors may be able to clearly recognize our inherent talents and abilities before we do.
7.       Mistakes Can Open Doors to Exciting Opportunities – Unlike adults, kids do not beat themselves up when they make a stupid mistake.  Instead, they examine the details of the outcome though curious eyes.  Mistakes are often gateways to new experiences and educational growth.  They may also expose voids in products and services that could lead to lucrative business opportunities.
8.      Use Your Imagination – Kids can have hours of fun with nothing more than a wooden stick and their imagination.  They harness their imagination to discover new things about both themselves and the world around them.  It is our imagination that drives both our dreams and our curiosity to chase them.  If we lose sight of our imagination, we will never see our dreams through to fruition.
9.      Improvise Along the Way – Kids are rarely mired by hesitation or fear.  They usually dive head first into every situation, leaping over hurdles and improvising their approach when they must.  Sometimes we over-analyze our next move and hesitate in fear they we may not get it right.  Truthfully, the chances are slim of ever getting it 100% right the first time.  It’s usually more practical to plan your general course of action, get some forward momentum, and map out the details as they come over the horizon.
10.   Learn by Imitation – Kids observe the people around them with enthusiastic intensity.  They typically mimic the actions that work and ignore the ones that don’t.  As we grow older we tend to become less observant, instead relying solely on formal instruction for expanding our skill set.  We forget how well we learned when we were young by simply observing others.
11.    Play – Playing comes naturally to kids because play time is fun time, and kids love to have fun.  As we get older we forget how great it feels to let loose and play around.  There doesn’t always have to be a purpose behind our actions.  Sometimes it’s healthy to fool around and engage in recreation for the sole purpose of having fun.
12.   Be Creative and Do it Your Way – As I stated earlier, kids dive head first into most everything they do.  They don’t always stop to ask for guidance, but instead figure it out for themselves along the way.  This can lead them to uncover innovative, improved methods for accomplishing things.  If you have a creative idea about how to accomplish something faster, smarter or better than the current method, do it your way and see what happens.  You’ll never know unless you try.
13.   Express Your Feelings – Kids wear their feelings all over their face, visible for all to see.  You never have to guess as to whether they are happy, sad, angry or indifferent.  You know the answer immediately just by looking at them.  Adults, on the other hand, conceal their feelings from others, making it much more difficult to read their reaction and determine how they feel.  Openly expressing your feelings makes communication easier and maintains sincerity in your life.
14.   Be Fully Aware of Your Surroundings – The immediate surroundings are a kid’s playground.  They explore every facet of their environment down to the finest detail.  In doing so they find things an adult would never have seen.  You must be fully aware of what’s going on around you in order to take action accurately.  Keen awareness is the key to resolving complex problems and innovating new designs.
15.    Start Everyday with Enthusiasm – Kids hit the ground running every morning with sheer enthusiasm.  They don’t resist the idea of starting a new day.  They are excited to be alive and absolutely pumped-up for the new experiences that lie ahead.  Life is much more rewarding and enjoyable when you quit resisting it.  No day will ever be exactly like today.  Don’t waste it.
16.   Ask Lots of Questions – Why…?  How…?  Are we there yet?  When kids are not involved in an activity, they are asking an endless series of questions.  Not every question will get an answer, but many will, and this is probably the second best source learning outside of firsthand experience.  We should never refrain from asking questions.  You’ll never get an answer to a question you never ask.
17.    Be Honest and Call It Like It Is – As I stated earlier, kids don’t hide their feelings, they are honest to a fall.  They call every shot just like they see it, the moment it happens.  Open honesty in conjunction with clear communication builds strong character and healthy relationships with others.  People will listen to you if they trust that you are speaking honestly.
18.   Pursue Your Curiosity – Kids are driven by curiosity, constantly in pursuit of the unknown.  Curiosity guides their education and influences their path forward.  Following our curiosity expands our horizons and often leads us to brilliant personal discoveries.
19.   Enjoy Life’s Simple Pleasures – Kids don’t need a bunch of best selling toys in order to enjoy themselves.  Put a kid in a puddle and watch him cheerfully splash around.  Give a kid permission to chase the cat around the house for a couple minutes, the giggles will be contagious.  Or just tickle a kid until he is beet red from laughter.  All of these are simple pleasures that children love to partake in.  It should serve as a reminder that some of the best things in life are free.
20.  Nurture and Value Your Relationships – There are few things kids love more than hanging out with their friends.  If it were up to them, they would never leave their friends’ side.  Kids admire, respect, and trust their friends unconditionally.  They look forward to their arrival and miss them when they’re gone.  Healthy personal relationships are one of the keys to happiness.  Sure, life gets busier as we get older, but we should never let our busy schedules keep us from the people we care about most.

Here We are

Hey guys,
I created this blog just to share my views on life, What I think of life, What I Believe in, and what I expect from the life.

Infact, I am just an ordinary man trying to learn the little mystery behind this whole concept of life, behind the 70-80 years that we spend just to learn WHY WE ARE HERE.

The answer to the question in bold is too simple but still too complicated to understand. People spend thousands of dollars just trying to understand the secret and improve their standard of living, to get happiness, to get peace, to get all the riches of the world and of course at the end to get "moksha".

But friends, we have a saying in hindi "Moko kahan dhoondhe bande, mai toh tere pass mai, na mai masjid na mai madir, na kaabe kailas mai, khooji hoi toh turthe miliye, pal bhar ki talaas mai". which means that god is not present in some old temple, mosque or some church, he is within us all we have to do is look and feel his power and energy.
So, if you wanna know the secret of life, then the god himself will come and tell you, you just have to ask for it.

Over generations, people of all ages have been trying to explain this secret, and they all have a different perspective towards life, but they all shared a common link, a common ground which i try to highlight and put some of my own findings into it.

We learn different things, through various very different experiences of our lives, some experiences so bad that you do not wanna remember while some are too good to forget. And whether it's goo or bad, we always learn something, and that something is where the secret of life lies.
I might not be old enough to have all those experiences but hell yeah, I have enough knowledge which has made what i am today and I am ready to share all that with you guys and let you enjoy the fun behind the SECRET OF LIFE.
